This nationally recognised qualification reflects the role of workers who provide support and empowerment to individuals with disabilities in community settings and private homes.
Learners will gain the skills and knowledge to promote independence, self-reliance, and community inclusion using a person-centred and strengths-based approach. Graduates may also develop leadership skills to supervise or coordinate small teams within the disability support sector.
Blended Learning (Online + Work Placement)
Online Theory: Complete interactive theory units online at your own pace.
Practical Training: Gain hands-on experience through supervised work placement in a registered disability support setting.

Course Duration:
Typically completed over 12–18 months (flexible, self-paced).
Duration may vary depending on individual experience, study load, and placement availability.
Upon completion, learners will be able to:
Deliver person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, including complex needs.
Facilitate community participation and skill development.
Promote independence, dignity, and rights for clients.
Apply behaviour support strategies and manage challenging situations.
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and WHS standards.
Provide leadership and team support in care settings.
Assist with medication, food safety, and mental health support.\
Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Qualification – CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support, meeting industry, legal, and professional standards across Australia.
This is an open-entry qualification; however, participants must:
Have sufficient English, literacy, and digital skills (LLND evaluation and Pre-Training Review required).
Be 18 years or older to undertake practical placement.
Have access to a computer and basic digital literacy.
Obtain the following at their own expense:
National Police Check (NCCHC) – clear record required for placement.
Working with Children Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Provide proof of current flu vaccination (COVID-19 vaccination recommended).
Be able to demonstrate practical skills in a real disability support setting.
