This nationally recognised unit equips learners with the skills and knowledge to provide first aid to infants and children in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and other national clinical standards.
Designed for educators, teachers, and support staff, this course covers the management of paediatric medical emergencies, including asthma and anaphylaxis, ensuring a safe and confident response in education and care environments.
Blended Learning (Online + Face-to-Face)
Online Theory: Complete the theory component online at your own pace through multiple-choice and short-answer assessments.
Practical Training & Assessment: At Leading Integral Training, we deliver face-to-face, contextualised first aid and CPR training either at our dedicated training site or directly in your workplace. This flexible approach ensures your team receives relevant, hands-on instruction that supports both compliance and confidence in responding to emergencies.

Course Duration:
Online Theory: Self paced
Practical Session: 4 hours face to face
Duration may vary depending on class size and participant experience.
Participants will learn how to:
Recognise and respond to paediatric emergencies in education and care settings.
Provide first aid for asthma, anaphylaxis, bleeding, burns, fractures, and shock.
Perform CPR on infants and children following ARC Guidelines.
Safely use first aid equipment within childcare and school environments.
Communicate effectively with emergency services, supervisors, and parents.
Review incidents and support workplace health and safety procedures.
Certification:
Successful participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, recognised across Australia and meeting national workplace and education compliance standards.
This course has open entry; however, participants must:
Have sufficient English, literacy, and digital skills (LLND evaluation and Pre-Training Review required).
Be 18 years or older to undertake practical placement (if applicable).
Have access to a computer and basic digital literacy.
Be physically able to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for at least 2 minutes.
Obtain required clearances and vaccinations if participating in a childcare or education setting.
